Deliver and Develop

Deliver and Develop Grants are for organisations to expand existing delivery, learn about and evidence what works and consider how your approach can be embedded across the system that you’re working in to deliver lasting change.

Please note that applications for the first round of funding have now closed. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application in March/April 2023. If you want to stay up to date with news about future funding rounds, please sign up to the Propel newsletter.

Deliver and Develop Grants will be for up to three years.  At the end of Deliver and Develop Grants, we anticipate that there will be an opportunity to apply for a Long Term Grant (five year+) to lead a collaboration that delivers change for London.

You can only apply for ONE grant, so you should select carefully whether a Deliver and Develop Grant is the best fit for your organisation.

What do Deliver and Develop Grants focus on?

Deliver and Develop Grants will use three of the Recovery Missions as a springboard for action. Please read this section carefully to understand what funders are seeking to support under each Mission. In your application, you will need to select a Mission and set out how your work will deliver the focus articulated by funders.

Below is an extract of what Deliver and Develop grants focus on. Before you apply, please read the guidance document (available below) carefully for further information about the Deliver and Develop Grants.

A New Deal for Young People

Deliver and Develop Grants under the New Deal for Young People Mission will support organisations working with disadvantaged young people aged between 10 and 24.

Deliver and Develop Grants will be for:

  1. Work that focuses on increasing the quantity and quality of mentoring for young people and includes capacity for rapid scale up and to support high numbers of disadvantaged young people.  Mentoring includes high quality youth activities that build a trusted relationship over time, is responsive to the needs of the young person, and uses trust to build skills and opportunity for change.
  2. Work that empowers system change and sustainability within the youth sector, in particular by:
  • Strengthening young people’s voice and leadership;
  • Connecting smaller and larger youth organisations together with funders, decision makers, and regional networks.

Building Strong Communities

Deliver and Develop Grants under the Building Strong Communities Mission will be for underpinning or growing the accessibility and sustainability of resources where communities can come together to support themselves and each other. Areas of focus are:

  1. Work to establish, improve access to, or grow resources (physical and/or non-physical) that enable the strengthening of voice, leadership and civic engagement, particularly with underrepresented or marginalised communities e.g., a network that provides community development, capacity building or training. Note that this doesn’t include capital costs (e.g. the costs of extending a building)
  2. Work that ensures resources (physical and/or non-physical) are sustainable and are protected for the community; that brings assets into community ownership; and/or that supports local people to engage with development in their local areas, particularly those who have least access.

Robust Safety Net

Deliver and Develop Grants under the Robust Safety Net Mission will focus on:

  1. Building the future workforce for the advice sector, ensuring that advisors are rooted in communities experiencing disadvantage.
  2. The sustainability of the organisations and services that provide advice to marginalised communities, linking to job pathways for those who are trained under the advice workforce development initiatives.

Who will be prioritised for a Deliver and Develop Grant?

Applications from equity-led organisations will be prioritised (i.e. they will be assessed first). By equity-led, we mean organisations led by and for marginalised communities, in particular:

  • Communities experiencing racial inequity
  • Deaf and Disabled People
  • LGBT+ People
  • Women and girls

We define ‘led by’ as when more than 75% of an organisation’s Trustees and more than 50% of staff members (including senior) are people from the community or communities that you serve or have lived experience of the issues that your organisation is tackling.  If your organisation serves more than one marginalised community, then the percentage of your Board and staff could also be from more than one community.
