Systems change resource bank
One of Propel’s core principles is engaging with the entire system surrounding an issue, focusing on root causes rather than just symptoms, and building a shared understanding of how meaningful change can happen.
Systems change means looking beyond immediate challenges to address the deeper, structural issues affecting our capital. It’s about tackling the inequalities that give some groups an advantage while making it harder for others to thrive, rather than just responding to the consequences of these inequalities.
For example, systems change could involve supporting organisations to uncover the root causes of issues like poverty and develop strategies—including advocacy—to challenge and reshape the societal structures that keep marginalised communities in poverty.
There is no single approach to systems change; instead, there are many ways to explore and create lasting transformation. You can review some of this resources to help you shape your systems change vision.
